Christmas Shopping at the Watershed Mill Settle.

John Iveson from Hawes

Arrived good and early at Sycamore Close Day Centre only to find that two of our members were not well enough to come. So having an extra two places we invited John Iveson from High Hall and Mrs Booth from Sycamore Close to join us.

We left Sycamore at just after 11am and set off in high spirits(carol singing as we went).

There was a huge display of Christmas goodies. I think we were quite overwhelmed.

NORA AND ELIZABETH

This is a photograph of Nora Atkinson left, with her sister Elizabeth Dent. Nora took the opportunity to meet up with her sister and arranged with Lizzies' daughter Sheila to meet them at the Watershed for lunch and a bit of shopping. Mrs Dent and her husband George (who have been married for well over seventy years) now live at Gargrave near Skipton.

THE LUNCH

We all had the festive yorkshire pudding for our main course. A huge thing with turkey, stuffing, sausage and bacon, sprouts, carrots, roast potatoes and gravy. Yum!!

This is Edgar Dakin doing his Churchill impression but dropped his cigar!!

Angela got herself a new party frock (black as usual but has been a bit daring. It has a few sparkly bits).
The free samples were soon sourced and tried out (It's not only my dress that's daring).
Thankyou to the staff for their patience and help. We had a good day out.
