Computer Course At Barnard Castle

A Computer course at Teesdale High School, Barnard Castle.

These photographs try to show our flexible approach to life.

Magaret Metcalfes' son Alister who was a teacher at Teesdale High
mentioned that sixth form pupils at the school
were looking for students to practice their teaching skills on.
She suggested that we might be interested and we said why not?
Why not? Sitting in reception just wondering
what we had let ourselves in for.

JAMES WATERWORTH.

It's a long time since I had anything to do with a computer.

Where do you turn it on?

It soon came back to me.

GETTING STARTED

Laurence, Ruth and Freda (in the foreground) all preparing to have a go.
Freda and Laurence actually look like they are enjoying the lesson.

LUNCH TIME

A lovely buffet was laid on for us.

Don't anyone complain about teenagers to us. We were looked after superbly.
The young people couldn't do enough for us.

They all worked hard and had a great sense of humour.

Believe me, they needed it with our zero knowledge of computing.

AT LAST

Getting the hang of it.

We have all managed to make a calender and produce an image of ourselves to go with it.

Margarets' son Mr. Metcalfe.

A BIG THANKYOU for a very interesting day. The vote is, we would like to do it again.
